Turning Your Hobby Into Profitable Business. Steps to Make It Happen.

23/04/2020

Do you have a hobby that brings butterflies to your stomach? Are you ready to turn it into your lifestyle business? Here’s what you need to do next!

Step 1: Start a Website

If the recent event has taught as anything – you must have a website. No matter if you want to start an e-commerce business or simply introduce your services to the world, you need to do it online & do it well. Go ahead and follow this simple tutorial to register your website today.

Step 2: Design Your Website

So you have your website live & active now, but it’s not looking real pretty just yet, huh? Don’t miss this step as this is very important.

In this visual era, you must take care of your website’s design if you want to succeed online.

You have nothing to worry about! You don’t need to be tech savvy or have a great understanding of web design to make this happen.

Get yourself a Premade WordPress Theme & your professional looking website will be ready in seconds.

Installing your website’s theme is super easy too & you always get step-by-step instructions in our themes’ packages (or you can use free installation services and have a professional set it up for you).

Step 3: Get Social

And I’m not talking about spreading the word in the neighbourhood (although that’s something you should be doing anyways), I’m talking about social media here.

Being active on social media is the best way to bring the most engaged audience to your website. I personally focus on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest & Facebook. However, you can definitely get awesome results from other platforms if you analyse & use them properly. It’s really up to you to decide but make sure to register your accounts as soon as possible & secure those unique usernames.

However, for the first few months, I would suggest focussing on only 1 or 2 platforms tho! You can add more as you go along, but for now- work on the ones you feel you can do best at!

Step 4: Take Pictures

Great photography can really help you push your products or services out in the world. In this visual era of the internet, your photography means more than ever. With a huge competition out there, most readers will leave your blog straight away if they don’t like the visual aesthetics of your blog. Uploading high-quality images can really help you attract attention to what you really want to say throughout your content.

Luckily, it’s not all about the expensive cameras and lenses when it comes to your photography, photo editing is just as important.

Sign up for Adobe Photography Plan & download Lightroom + Photoshop. These might look a bit difficult to use at first, but it’s so worth to take your time & actually learn how to use these. You can find a bunch of handy tutorials on youtube. Or, let me tell you a little secret: I personally LOVE using VSCO presets for Lightroom when editing my images. They are so easy to handle and they make your pictures look so bright & professional!

Step 5: Create Content

Now to get your first clients, you need to start creating content. Introduce your product, yourself, share the steps of this new journey of turning your hobby into a business with the world. That personal touch can be just what you need to land your first deals.

Step 6: Set Goals

Running an online business is a never-ending work & you always have space to improve. Open your notebook and create a list of your goals: when you want to make your first paycheck or when you will make your first 10k, 100k, 500k, or whatever you want to go for! Visualize it, meditate on it and make a plan! You know you can do it!
