29/10/2020

Would you love to start your own online venture, but you don’t have a product? ?

You would love to be your own boss, but you are no inventor. ?‍️

Let me assure you – you don’t have to be.

You can just as easily make a living as a re-seller.

In short, A reseller is an individual person or business that buys a product, marks up the price and sells it for a profit. It’s the middle-men between manufacturers and customers.

In this post, I take you through each step you’ll need to complete in order to launch your own e-commerce business as a reseller for other brands.

Ok, it’s time for a practical example! Let’s say you want to start an online shop selling candles, here’s what you will need to do.

Step 1: Register A Website

You will need to at least have a domain name & a theme set up on your website in order to pitch yourself to brands. No worries tho, manufacturers are usually eager to sell, so you should be able to place your first orders with them even if you’re just starting out.

Step 2: Look for brands that offer wholesale/re-selling opportunities

What I usually do is re-search bigger marketplaces such as ASOS, Amazon etc and look into popular products on their websites.

I would then pick a few particular brands & head straight to their own websites.

To find brands that make awesome candles, I’ve googled: ‘organic candles wholesale’, ‘candles wholesale’, ‘natural candles wholesale’ etc.

I’ve spent a few minutes researching & stopped by www.pfcandleco.com products that can be found on many major marketplaces. If you visit their website you will see a link to visit their WHOLESALE & BULK ORDERS page in the footer.

Under this page, you would find a wholesale form to submit & their team member get back to you over e-mail regarding their policies, shipping rates, pricing etc.

Step 3: Market

Once you’ve placed your first order with the manufacturer, you can start marketing the products right away.

Social media is currently one of the most effective ways for you to spread the word about your new business venture, so really go all in.

Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about marketing. You will get there.
